Territorial.io

A land grab in real time. Your colour spreads over the map and pushes into your neighbours' borders until one player or clan holds the lot. On 23 October 2026 the public log showed a team game ending every 20 to 40 seconds, each with 41 to 62 players.

How it plays

How Territorial.io plays

Territorial.io opens straight into its menu, with no sign-up page in front of it. When we looked on 23 October 2026 the counters read 900 players in multiplayer and 176 in single-player, and the lobby offered team games, battle royale, 1v1 and a zombie mode.

A match is a race for land on one map. Store listings sum it up as 'Conquer nations, build empires in minutes'. The public game log shows team games on maps such as the British Isles with 41 to 62 players; battle royale games in the same log had between 12 and 101.

Single-player is the easy way in. The Custom Scenario we ran put us on an island map with 512 bot players, and after 16 seconds our territory held 1,768 troops.

Gold is the game's own currency. You earn it by playing and winning, it shrinks a little every night, and players can pass it to each other for a fee. Ranked titles run from 'Beggar' to 'Capitalist'.

Your first game

  1. Step 1
Open territorial.io. The menu loads with no account.
  2. Step 2
Start with Custom Scenario: it runs against bots and asks for no puzzle.
  3. Step 3
For multiplayer, press Ready in a lobby. On 23 October 2026 this showed a picture puzzle to prove you are human.
  4. Step 4
To keep the account on another device, add an email once you have 100 gold.

Money, chat and age

Nothing is sold inside the game. The money comes from adverts and from an optional Patreon at $3, $5, $10 or $20 a month, which removes adverts and adds a separate leaderboard. We found no paid random items.

Chat is public by design. The privacy policy says all messages are stored on the game's servers and 'Chat is never private.' Moderation is done by players, through reports and elected admins. Clan names in the lobby on 23 October included political jokes, so a child may read names a parent would not pick.

The terms give no minimum age. The apps carry PEGI 3 on Google Play and 4+ on the App Store; those ratings cover the game's content, and Google Play adds 'Users interact' for the chat.

Good for

Short sessions between other things, big public lobbies, and trying a strategy game with no account at all.

Harder for

Children who should not read an open chat, and players who want slow, planned turns. Multiplayer asked for a puzzle before each match we tried.
